INTO THE VOID is an innovative concert-performance piece for two performers, 6-channel audio, dynamic lighting, and animated projections. Inspired by my fascination with environments that warp our individual sense of time—termed 'Eigenzeit' by philosopher Helga Nowotny, where personal experiences, lifespan, and societal factors shape temporal perception—this work also draws on psychological research into music's influence on time awareness. The performance unfolds across virtual spaces digitized in a game engine, allowing performers to explore them live on stage. Drawing from real-world sites like a sleek office building and Berlin's Jewish Museum, it probes the essence of 'spaces' in our era: Where do we truly inhabit today, and can that even be defined? A high-tech yet minimalist setup integrates body-generated sounds, subtle movements, sparse electronic textures, and ethereal flute and cello melodies to immerse audiences in this temporal void.
